Biografía
William Sylvester (31 de enero de 1922 - 25 de enero de 1995) fue un actor de cine y televisión estadounidense. Su crédito cinematográfico más famoso fue el del Dr. Heywood Floyd en Odisea en el espacio (2001), de Stanley Kubrick (1968). Nacido en Oakland, California y casado con la actriz británica Veronica Hurst, se mudó a Inglaterra después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y se convirtió en un elemento básico de las películas británicas de serie B en una época en la que los actores estadounidenses y canadienses eran muy solicitados para dar Las películas indígenas tienen cierto atractivo en Estados Unidos. Como resultado, obtuvo un gran reconocimiento en una de sus primeras películas, House of Chantaje (1953), dirigida por el veterano cineasta Maurice Elvey, para quien también hizo Lo que toda mujer quiere al año siguiente. También protagonizó películas menores como The Stranger Came Home (1954, para Hammer), Dublin Nightmare (1958), Offbeat (1960), Informationceived (1961), Incident at Midnight, Ring of Spies y Blind Corner (todas de 1963). . También tuvo papeles principales en cuatro películas de terror británicas: Gorgo (1960), Devil Doll (1963), Devils of Darkness (1964) y The Hand of Night (1966). Entre sus muchos créditos televisivos se encuentran una versión de la BBC de 1959 de Julio César de Shakespeare (interpretando a Marco Antonio), The Saint, The Baron, The High Chaparral, Harry O y The Six Million Dollar Man.
